This page gathers questions and known issues specific to Recalbox 10. For general questions, see the FAQ.
If your Recalbox misbehaves after an update, start with a factory reset: your roms, bios and saves are kept, only the configuration (settings, controllers…) has to be redone. It solves a lot of issues.
Disk partitioning changed with Recalbox 10: on PC, you cannot go from 9.2.3 (or older) to 10 through the online update. A clean installation is required:
roms/, bios/ and saves/ folders from your share (see File management). On Raspberry Pi and handhelds, updating from 9.x works normally through the update manager.
Raspberry Pi 0/0W/1 and 2, the Odroid XU4 and 32-bit PCs are no longer supported since Recalbox 10 (the Odroid XU4 stopped at 9.2.3). Their last images remain downloadable but are not maintained, and support only covers Recalbox 10 — see the supported hardware list in the FAQ.
The roms editor of the old Web Manager (before Recalbox 10) no longer works. The Web Manager was fully rebuilt in 10.1 — browsing systems and games, bios status, settings synchronized live — see Web Manager. To edit a game's metadata, use the editor built into the interface (START on the game → EDIT GAME) or the scraper.
In 10.0 and 10.0.1, picking a patch in the selection window at launch did not start the game. Fixed since 10.0.2 — update your Recalbox. The full feature is described on Softpatching.
Moonlight had been removed from the PC build when Recalbox 10 launched. It is back since 10.1, which also brings V4L2 hardware decoding on Raspberry Pi 4 and 5.
