The RecalTower is Recalbox's official modular case: a stack of floors that houses your Raspberry Pi 5 and the Recalbox accessories, each in its own slot, screwed on top of one another.

¶ What goes into the tower
Each module takes one floor, stacked in this order:
- the Raspberry Pi 5 floor (the base);
- the Recalbox RGB DUAL 2 floor, if you play on a CRT screen;
- the Recalbox Card Reader floor, if you use RecalCards.
Floors are held together by nuts seated in dedicated slots and by the countersunk screws supplied with each module. So you can start with the Pi 5 alone and add floors later, as add-ons.
¶ Assembly
The full assembly is documented on the manuals of the modules themselves, step by step and in pictures:
- Recalbox RGB DUAL 2 — fitting the Raspberry Pi 5 into its floor, then the RGB DUAL 2 floor on top, and taking the tower apart.
- Recalbox Card Reader and RecalCards — adding the Card Reader floor, with or without RGB DUAL 2.
WARNING: always remove the SD card BEFORE taking the Raspberry Pi 5 out of the case or putting it back in.
