The Satellaview was a Super Famicom add-on that received games and broadcasts by satellite, distributed by Nintendo in Japan between 1995 and 2000. The service closed long ago, but the cartridges and the games downloaded at the time have been preserved.
Your games go into /recalbox/share/roms/satellaview (.bs, .bsx, .sfc, .smc). The available emulators are snes9x (default), Mesen-S, bsnes and bsnes-hd.
/recalbox/share/bios/satellaview/BS-X.bin
Without it, no game will start. Several variants of this file are accepted; the BIOS checker will confirm yours is fine.
The most common BIOS is in Japanese, and you have to walk through it on every launch to reach the game. Here is the route, once and for all.
PAGE button, bottom left, switches alphabet; DONE, bottom right, validates (the START button jumps straight to DONE).UP, then A.Load Stored Data — play the game you launched;Delete Stored Data — erase the game's content;Receive Program — receive an update (moot today);Clear Personal Data — erase the profile you just created.Load Stored Data, select the game, and off you go.📷 Screenshots to come:

The profile you create is kept in the save file: subsequent launches are much shorter.
