New in Recalbox 10.1: RB5000 is now available as a libretro core, in addition to its standalone version.
RB5000 is a Philips VG 5000 emulator written for Recalbox by the project team, then ported to a libretro core. It is distributed with Recalbox.

The core is rated with high compatibility and high speed, and it is built for every board supported by Recalbox. As the VG 5000 is a very light 8-bit machine, it runs at full speed everywhere, including on RPi3 and RPi Zero 2.
The system also offers RB5000 as a standalone emulator. The libretro version brings the features common to every RetroArch core (save states, shaders, rewind); pick one or the other in the emulation options of the system or of a given game.

VG 5000 games are tape images: one
.k7file per program.
While in game, press HOTKEY + B to open the RetroArch menu, then go to the core options section to display the settings specific to RB5000.
The options exposed by RB5000 change from one core release to another: rely on the list displayed in the RetroArch menu of your installation rather than on a fixed list. As the VG 5000 boots into its BASIC, the core handles tape loading for you; give it a few seconds before concluding that a game does not start.
