New in Recalbox 10.1: Hypseus_Singe is now available as a libretro core and supports Daphne, Singe and Singe 2 games.
Hypseus Singe is a modern fork of Matt Ownby's Daphne emulator, maintained by DirtBagXon and released under the GPL-3.0 license. Its libretro port is shipped in Recalbox under the same license.

The core is rated with high compatibility and high speed, and it is built for every board supported by Recalbox.
The default emulator of the Daphne system is still the standalone Hypseus: select Libretro Hypseus_Singe explicitly in the emulation options of the system or of a given game to use it. Its main benefit is running LaserDisc games inside RetroArch, with the features common to every libretro core (save states, shaders, recording, and so on).
| Feature | Supported |

| Netplay | ❌ |
| Softpatching | ❌ |
| CRT output | ✅ |
| RetroAchievements | ❌ (not supported on the Daphne system) |
| Light gun | ✅ (optional on the Daphne system) |
Light guns are especially useful for Singe shooter games. On an arcade cabinet, the CRT output of this core works with the Recalbox RGB JAMMA kit.
No BIOS is required for this core.

A game comes as a
.daphnefolder holding the video, audio and command files. To prepare your games, see the dedicated guides: Play Daphne games, Play Singe games and Play Singe 2 games.
While in game, press HOTKEY + B to open the RetroArch menu, then go to the core options section to display the settings specific to Hypseus_Singe.
The options exposed by the core change from one release to another: rely on the list displayed in the RetroArch menu of your installation rather than on a fixed list. If a Singe or Singe 2 game does not start, check the contents of the .daphne folder first by following the matching guide: the vast majority of issues come from a wrong folder layout or command file, not from a core option.
